Sirona Technologies will have Shopify as its first customer

Sirona Technologies is proud to announce that we have been selected to receive investment from the AirMiners Kiloton Fund. This selection highlights our rapid progress in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, designed to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, and positions us among a global cohort of innovators in the carbon removal space.

In addition to the Kiloton Fund investment, Shopify, a global leader in corporate sustainability, has committed to purchasing $100,000 worth of carbon credits from Sirona Technologies. This purchase agreement marks a key milestone, as it represents our first carbon removal offtake agreement. Shopify’s support underscores the growing demand for high-quality, verifiable carbon credits to address unavoidable emissions.

Sirona Technologies has made significant strides since our founding in 2023. We have built four generations of DAC machines in just 18 months and are on track to launch our first pilot plant in Kenya by the end of the year. By partnering with Cella for permanent CO2 storage, we aim to deliver verifiable net carbon removal solutions to clients like Shopify, helping them achieve their sustainability goals.

This milestone validates our approach of rapid product iteration and scalability as we continue to work towards removing 1 million tons of CO2 annually by 2030.
