About Sirona Technologies

At Sirona Technologies, we are developing direct air capture (DAC) technology to remove CO2 from the air and combat climate change. As a startup in the R&D phase, we’re rapidly scaling our laboratory prototype into larger, game-changing machines to be produced in large series.

We're looking for a talented and mission-driven Manufacturing Engineer to kick start and scale our production. You will be instrumental in smoothly transferring Sirona’s machine from pilot to mass production and rapidly scaling up volumes while growing the team.

Responsibilities
  1. Process Design & Optimization:
    • Develop and optimize manual assembly workflows, ensuring efficiency and repeatability.
    • Design production layouts, workstation setups, and assembly documentation (e.g., SOPs, work instructions).
  2. Tooling & Equipment:
    • Identify, specify, and commission tools, jigs, and fixtures for the assembly process.
    • Troubleshoot and maintain assembly tools and equipment.
  3. Production Scaling:
    • Implement scalable manufacturing processes to transition from pilot to mass production.
    • Conduct time studies, takt time analysis, and process improvements.
  4. Automation Opportunities:
    • Identify and integrate low-cost automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort where feasible.
  5. Quality Integration:
    • Collaborate with QA/QC to establish in-process and final inspection checkpoints.
    • Incorporate quality assurance principles into assembly processes.
  6. Lean Manufacturing:
    • Apply Lean principles (5S, value stream mapping) to eliminate waste and improve flow.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with design, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure smooth production ramp-up.
    • Provide feedback on product design to improve manufacturability.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5–10 years in manufacturing, with hands-on experience in:
    • Scaling manual assembly processes for electro-mechanical systems.
    • Designing production workflows, layouts, and process documentation.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
    • Proficiency in time studies, takt time analysis, and process mapping.
    • Hands-on experience with assembly tools, jigs, and fixtures.
    • Familiarity with quality systems and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 8D, Fishbone).
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement low-cost automation solutions.
    • Leadership and experience as a team lead
  • Startup mindset: Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments with limited resources and ambiguity.
  • Smart but humble, with a bias for action
